Festival 21 – volunteers needed

There’s an awesome event on 3rd September which is also a great fundraiser for Southover BS.

We need people to run a bar for a massive public event (3,000
people at Danny House,) and also to form a guard of honour in full Southover colours with burning torches. There are copious attractions to be enjoyed throughout the day and into the evening including a Son et Lumière show (for more details go to

At least 20 people are needed all day, and the event raises money for local hospices too.

Display Field – help needed

The Pyrotechnic Crew will be starting to lay out the display field at the Stanley Turner Ground on Saturday 31st October (and Sunday 1st November).

This involves unloading a truck, then carrying and setting up fence panels and helping to lay out firework racks.

We urgently need help to do so from members aged 16 or over – no fireworks will be involved so no experience is needed, just muscle!

Meet at the STG pavilion at 9am. If you’re interested and would like to meet us first, we’ll be a the first Badge Night on the 25th October or you can email us on
