The Open Gardens event for 2018 is coming soon, for more information please go to the new Open Gardens page.
The May Fayre needs your help – we’re recruiting a small army of volunteers who can build, sell, count, carry, fetch, drive, hammer, gather and paint. From setting up the site in the morning to clearing away at the end of the day, an hour of your time would be very much appreciated if you have any at all to spare. If you’d like to get involved and do your bit, let us know what time you can be available on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many thanks, hope to see you there!
Due to a sudden and unforeseen change in circumstances, the Gin Tasting Evening this coming Saturday has had to be cancelled.
All monies will be refunded to the ticket purchasing card. This may take a couple of days to show up on your statements. Please let me know if there is any discrepancy.
It is hoped that this event can be re-scheduled in the near future, and if so will be advertised on the Southover Bonfire Society website and Facebook page as usual.
Thank you for your interest and support,
With apologies on behalf of Mark Ridgwell.
Well that was good wasn’t it? A really special bonfire for many – excellent planning and preparation, a Society of committed and experienced members and a touch of good fortune with the weather made 2017 a year to remember. And to make sure it stays fresh in your memory the SBS photographers have produced yet another spectacular crop of photographs from the evening.
Buying photos is a great way to put a bit of money back into the Society, and to give you some fantastic souvenirs or gifts for friends and loved ones. Check the Photos page now to see this years’ selection. With thanks as always to all the photographers on the night, Ian Cumming, Emma Howard, Fergus Kennedy, Nigel Powell, Willie Robb and Hugh Wilton, and to James McCauley for hosting the galleries.
We are looking for more SBS-ers to join the Southover Bonfire Society Firesite Force!
We need volunteers at the SBS Firesite running up to and after November 4 at our new firesite on the Convent Field, Lewes. We will meet at the Mountfield Road car park at 9am most days. Gloves and training will be provided. We will be doing a quick induction for everybody to the site and taking emergency contact details etc. There will be members of the Firesite Team on hand to help out on each day to answer and assist you. They will be wearing red rugby shirts with SBS Firesite Team written on them.
