Due to a sudden and unforeseen change in circumstances, the Gin Tasting Evening this coming Saturday has had to be cancelled.
All monies will be refunded to the ticket purchasing card. This may take a couple of days to show up on your statements. Please let me know if there is any discrepancy.
It is hoped that this event can be re-scheduled in the near future, and if so will be advertised on the Southover Bonfire Society website and Facebook page as usual.
Thank you for your interest and support,
With apologies on behalf of Mark Ridgwell.
Due to competition from the FA cup final and a royal wedding we have decided to change the date of the 2018 May Fayre, which will now be happening on Sunday the 20th. True, we set our date before Harry and Meghan set theirs, but they’ll probably be tired and want a lie in on the Saturday and we’d hate for them to miss the Fayre, so we’ve gracefully agreed to adjust our plans. Please update your diaries & we’ll see you in May.
Well that was good wasn’t it? A really special bonfire for many – excellent planning and preparation, a Society of committed and experienced members and a touch of good fortune with the weather made 2017 a year to remember. And to make sure it stays fresh in your memory the SBS photographers have produced yet another spectacular crop of photographs from the evening.
Buying photos is a great way to put a bit of money back into the Society, and to give you some fantastic souvenirs or gifts for friends and loved ones. Check the Photos page now to see this years’ selection. With thanks as always to all the photographers on the night, Ian Cumming, Emma Howard, Fergus Kennedy, Nigel Powell, Willie Robb and Hugh Wilton, and to James McCauley for hosting the galleries.
