Torchmaking Sundays (and membership renewals)

From Sunday, 4 September torchmaking season will be back upon us. Each marching member will burn up to ten torches on the Fifth (maybe more this year, as it is a Saturday), so we are going to need thousands of them, and we need your help to get them all made.

Training will be given to newcomers, while old hands can concentrate on perfecting the traditionally high-quality SBS torch. We’ll be at The Swan, our torchmaking venue, each Sunday morning (in September and October) between 9.30am and 11.30am, and it would be great to see you there!

Also there will be our lovely membership team in their distinctive red polo shirts ready to take renewals.

All-in-all this is a great opportunity to contribute to the society and make new Bonfire friends, let’s hope for good weather!

Firey Piece Wrapping

Our next upcoming event is another firey piece wrapping session at the Swan, Sunday 10th July 9:30 – 11:30. No experience is necessary so do come along and lend a hand – see your hard work go up in flames on the 5th!

The Membership Team will be on hand again to take renewals and they would love to see you and get you signed up for 2016.

Hope to see you there.

Diary Dates Update

Further to the post about wood collecting and fiery piece prep we can announce that the Membership Team be will be on hand at the fiery piece prep to handle membership renewals.

So join us at the Swan from 9:30am – 11:30am on Sunday 5th June and Sunday 19th June to help prepare the fiery pieces for the 5th, and bring along your chequebook if you’d like to renew your membership for 2016.
